THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PRECISIONMeet the team
Different skills. A shared pride in the work.
The people at the heart of Stringer Precision during its final working years. This team page forms part of the company’s 2005–2021 archive.

FOUNDER & CHAIRMANRedvers ‘Red’ Stringer
Red established the company in 2005 after leaving the RAF. As chairman, he shaped its direction, maintained its personal approach and remained an unmistakable presence in the workshop.
He championed careful preparation, practical ingenuity and the belief that a business should take pride in every part bearing its name. He also had a habit of turning a brief visit to the bench into an unexpectedly thorough discussion of the drawing.

Managing Director
Elizabeth Harcourt
Elizabeth kept the business moving: planning workloads, maintaining customer relationships and turning Red’s ambitious ideas into achievable schedules. Calm under pressure, she was usually the person who knew both the delivery date and where the paperwork had gone.

Technical Director
Lee Parker
Lee led machining strategy, prototype development and the more demanding drawing reviews. His particular talent was finding a practical way to make a difficult component without making the explanation any more complicated than necessary.

Workshop Manager
James Bexley
James oversaw day-to-day production, machine scheduling and the care of the workshop. He set a steady example at the bench and maintained that a tidy tool cabinet saved more time than any meeting about efficiency.

Quality & Inspection Manager
Anita Pembroke
Anita looked after dimensional checks, inspection records and the final review before a job left the workshop. Methodical and unhurried, she was the team’s last line of defence against the phrase “close enough”.

Finance & Office Manager
Claire Whitcombe
Claire managed the accounts, purchasing and office administration. From supplier paperwork to the running of company events, she brought order to the business and could be relied upon to ask the sensible question everyone else had overlooked.

Senior Engineer & Apprentice Mentor
Thomas Oakley
Thomas combined hands-on machining with support for younger members of the workshop. He enjoyed explaining why a process worked, not simply how to repeat it, and approached a first attempt as the start of a conversation rather than the end of one.
